I’M ABBY LONG

THE BACKSTORY

I spent my younger life on a working horse and cow ranch outside of Weatherford, Texas where I watched my family dedicate every waking hour to caring for and tending to the land, livestock and their love for the western way of life. Not too many people get the privilege to grow up bottling feeding calves, lunging horses and breaking ice in the freezing weather (when you’d so much rather be curled up by the fireplace), but I got to, and it forever shaped how I approach my work.

MY APPROACH TO PHOTOGRAPHY

My eyes naturally gravitate towards capturing warm, bright tones and natural, rich colors which is why I LOVE being outside and using natural light during photography sessions. My style blends elements of photojournalism and a modern take on classic portraiture.

I want your photographs to be real, human, and full of emotion — using natural light to communicate love, warmth and joy.

The work I do is ever-evolving and my priority is to do what is and looks best for my clients — leaning into a photojournalistic approach to capturing real moments and raw emotion. My job is capturing the simple moments of life by turning the ordinary into beautiful, striking imagery that you will remember forever.

WHY I DO WHAT I DO

I’ve been photographing for over eight years now and I think my absolute favorite part is having the opportunity to work with new people and capture the joy in their lives during our time together. Each session holds a place in my heart and I want the relationships I build through photography to last beyond the session.

With experience photographing tiny newborns, moody teenagers, romantic couples, surprise proposals, birthday parties, and weddings, I truly love it all and want to photograph every stage of life — and I cannot wait to see how I can work with you.
